Espace Diamant

The Espace Diamant ski area spans the Savoie and Haute-Savoie departments in the French Alps, positioned between the Beaufortain massif and the Val d'Arly. This domain connects several traditional villages and offers 192 kilometers of interconnected downhill slopes. While the maximum altitude reaches 2,069 meters, the resort maintains a reputation for consistent snow cover due to its proximity to Mont Blanc, which creates a favorable microclimate for the region. It serves as a premier destination for family groups and cross-country skiing enthusiasts who value gentle terrain and panoramic forest trails.

This region gained international recognition during the 1992 Winter Olympics when the high-altitude village of Les Saisies hosted the cross-country skiing and biathlon competitions. Accessing the area is straightforward because of its location near major transit hubs in the Rhone-Alpes region. Geneva International Airport is the primary gateway for international visitors, requiring a drive of roughly ninety minutes to reach most base villages. Travelers using the rail network can arrive at the Albertville TGV station, which is located only thirty minutes away from the lower slopes of the resort.

Les Saisies sits at a central high point of the domain and functions as the most developed hub for social activity and evening entertainment. Further north lies Praz-sur-Arly, which provides a gateway to the nearby Megève valley and offers a variety of refined dining options. Visitors looking for the best après-ski atmosphere generally find the most options in the central resort squares where outdoor seating areas remain active until the lifts close. The local gastronomy focuses on traditional mountain flavors, with numerous establishments providing quiet settings for evening meals within the rustic wooden architecture typical of these alpine villages.
