Note: This post reflects the application as of December 2025 and should be considered historical information beyond version 6.1.
We’re pleased to announce the release of version 6.1 of our application. This major update introduces several new features and improvements.

We are no longer using OpenWeather and have transitioned to our own weather-processing pipeline based on data from the French AROME model. This enables weather predictions with approximately 1.3 km resolution.
Rather than providing a general resort-average report, Piste now predicts conditions at multiple points across each resort.
Altitude is a key factor influencing mountain weather, so forecast points have been placed at both the peak and the base of every resort in Central Europe. This allows you to assess whether it is worth climbing above the cloud layer for clearer skies or remaining lower down for improved visibility.
Because we process the raw data directly, we can deliver far more detail to clients - helping you better assess whether conditions are unsafe for skiing. Hazards such as dense fog, lightning storms, and large hail - each potentially dangerous — are marked with a red triangle.

As mentioned in our previous blog post, users can now subscribe to avalanche-risk alerts for the French Alps. This data feed is sourced directly from the Météo-France bulletin. Users will receive a notification whenever the risk level rises above 3, and a confirmation message the following day if the level remains above 3.
Please note: You must always follow the avalanche-risk signs posted in-resort; these take precedence over regional bulletins.
We have resolved issues affecting automated backups on Android devices. Work is ongoing on an alternative mechanism that allows storage beyond 25 MB and supports transferring your account between devices and operating systems.
Piste now renders correctly at 120 Hz on compatible devices. Previously, the app appeared to perform poorly on high-refresh-rate phones.
