What is in Version 7.1?

We’re pleased to announce the release of version 7.1 of our application. This is a small update culiminating from feedback from Northern Snow! It's mostly a quality of life update and UI tweaks.

New resorts

Speaking to our users in person allowed us to find out about the hidden gem's you all ski. We've now included some of them in this release:

• Ruka, Finland
• Mölltaler Gletscher
• Banff Sunshine Village, Canada
• Melchsee-Frutt, Switzerland
• Park City Mountain Resort, Utar
• The Hill - Rossendale, England

Search and Points of Interest

Our search engine has improved a little more

• Searching now sorts results by distance for things that are nearby.
• The filter logic lets you both filter by a category & search.
• Added Grocery stores

On top of this our new Restaurant system offers a brief description for each restaurant as well as the price category and opening times. This is our first venture into using agentic AI to compile all this information so let us know how accurate it is!

Run topology

See the run gradient in graph form! Every run in piste is now accompanied by a topology graph so you can make better decisions on the suitability of runs for your group.

The color scheme matches the French Piste color scheme (Green -> Black)

• Green - Beginner steepness
• Blue - Intermediate steepness
• Red - Advanced steepness
• Black - Expert steepness
• Orange - Uphill

On-top of this data we now offer a quick summary if you'll need poles to complete a run, or if your a snowboarder you'll need a skier to pull you along!

Dead mans transponder

Behind the scenes we've updated our authentication system to allow for Android phones to continue broadcasting your location even if the main piste app crashes or gets closed due to memory pressure.

We've also updated our activity status sharing to share more detail to your friends on what Piste thinks your doing (Off piste, Walking, Queuing for a lift, stopped on a run etc)

The Future

What to expect for the next update

You can pretty much guarantee what I write here wont happen next release!

Our roadmap is to improve the Resort detail screen and bring all the new POI stuff to the front and center.

During this time we will be going though the Resorts and performing some pre-season polish so our December skiers have a good time. Unfortunately due to the nature of the snow and the crazy piste basher driving, you'll be our first eyes this season.
